The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer at Skipcart, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the technology that powers our entire business. You will work closely with Product and QA teams to build systems that support partner integration, order fulfillment and the driver experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Build APIs and publishers for other Applications to leverage Skipcart systems
  • Engineer data access controls as well as validation and quality checks into the system
  • Implement the solution in Azure using containers and CI/CD pipelines
  • Work with a dynamic team of engineers following an Agile Scrum approach.
  • Mentor other engineers in engineering techniques, processes, and new technologies
  • Make recommendations for overall application system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Support the build and deployment pipeline and when necessary, both diagnose and solve production support issues
  • Identify, scope, and architect solutions for new features while considering technology alternatives and all impacts / tradeoffs
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and QA to deliver world-class digital experiences
  • Get the opportunity to stay ahead of new technologies with an eye to evaluating and potentially incorporating them into your team's architecture; introduce new technologies that have ROI / influence
  • Apply understanding to constantly improve the cloud infrastructure that powers our high-performance site and mobile apps
  • Lead initiatives within the team, including technical design / delivery of complex features across multiple systems
  • Recommend changes to processes and tools based on industry standards, patterns, and practices
  • Influence others in technical decision-making / technology adoption within their domain
  • Diagnose / troubleshoot extremely complex issues independently
  • Develop technical roadmaps and lead engineers across one or more teams to deliver initiatives
  • Help grow Skipcart Engineering by driving execution of organization-wide activities
  • Identify ways to improve codebases, solutions to complex problems, and effectively propose paths forward to drive outcomes
  • Create documentation and training related to technology stacks and standards
  • Operate with minimal direction to drive large-scale initiatives
  • Provide end-to-end support to applications

What You Bring

  • A consistent track record of timely delivery of high-quality software
  • Skills in multiple languages, technologies, and frameworks and can quickly on-board to projects in minimal time
  • Capability of learn new technologies, processes, or business quickly and effectively
  • Holistic problem-solving and consider solutions through a combination of technology and process
  • Expert understanding of development methodologies and processes
  • Understanding of tech stacks and scalability and reliability implications
  • Expert knowledge of system architecture and design patterns
  • Deep knowledge about multiple technologies
  • 2+ years with agile/scrum
  • At least 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, or comparable experience
  • You have a bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field
  • Experience with .NET Core preferred
